Turkey's growing interest in Somalia

The Turkey region's relations with the territory of present-day Somalia and other parts of the Horn of Africa date back to the Middle Ages and the ties between the Adal Sultanate and the Ottoman Empire.
Turkey originally maintained an embassy in Mogadishu, Somalia's capital, until the outbreak of the Somali Civil War in 1991. It subsequently closed the embassy down due to security reasons.
During the 2011 East Africa drought, Turkey contributed over $201 million to the humanitarian relief efforts in the impacted parts of Somalia. Following a greatly improved security situation in Mogadishu in mid-2011, the Turkish government also re-opened its foreign embassy with the intention of more effectively assisting in the post-conflict development process.

I respect Turkey for doing this, there is something about that country and nation I really like. I hope that they get treated well, respected and protected by the locals so they can carry on doing their great work.
